CHRISTINA SACKETT
CHIEF FINANCIALOFFICER
Christina Sackett manages Tampa Bay Water’s Finance and Administration Division, overseeing staff responsible for the agency’s finances, procurement, records and information technology.
Under her leadership, the agency centralized its purchasing department, implemented a purchasing card program and implemented programs in the warehouse to create efficiencies for the agency. In her role overseeing the information technology department, she is involved with the agency’s cybersecurity, asset management system and the supervisory control and data acquisition system. In fiscal years 2015 and 2016, with Ms. Sackett’s guidance, Tampa Bay Water’s Board of Directors approved reissuing debt to achieve net present value savings of $51.2 million.
During her tenure and through the efforts of the finance team, Tampa Bay Water received awards for financial transparency including the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Award, the Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award and has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for 10 consecutive years.
Ms. Sackett holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration accounting from Florida Atlantic University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg. She is a member of the Florida Government Finance Officers Association and the National Institute for Public Procurement. Ms. Sackett has been employed by Tampa Bay Water since 2007 and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 2012. Before joining the agency, she worked as a controller for LIST Group, All Seasons Travel and Resorts and HID Development and has more than 30 years’ experience in accounting.
