Tampa Bay Water’s core business is delivering high-quality water to the Tampa Bay region. Our 132-person staff includes scientists, engineers, hydrologists, environmental analysts, planners, chemists, operations managers, water plant operators, bookkeepers, information systems specialists and more - all integral to performing our daily duty of water delivery and planning to meet future drinking water needs.

As the largest wholesale drinking water supplier in the southeastern United States, Tampa Bay Water ultimately provides water to more than 2.3 million people in Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties and the cities of New Port Richey, St. Petersburg and Tampa. Electrician I


Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. The first review of application submissions will begin on or about February 13, 2017.

We are seeking an Electrician I. While under general supervision, plans and performs skilled electrical work in the design, installation, maintenance as well as troubleshooting and repair of all electrical components of a water delivery system. These systems operate at voltages ranging from 120 volts to 13.2 KV and include but are not limited to emergency power generators, motor control centers, 3 phase motors and transformers. In addition to electrical work the person will need to assist maintenance technicians with mechanical design, troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance of pumps.

Water Treatment Plant Operator

We are seeking a Water Treatment Plant Operator to work the midnight shift at our High Service Pump Station location in Brandon, Florida. This position will be required to work 5 8-hour days per week.

Under general supervision, Operators perform certified and skilled work in the 24-hour operation of an interlinked, tri-county network of water treatment plant, pipeline and pumping station infrastructure.

Chief Technical Officer

Tampa Bay Water, the largest wholesale drinking water supplier in the southeastern United States, is seeking a science and technology expert to fill our Chief Technical Officer position. This executive team-level position will help in fulfilling our mission to reliably supply water to the Tampa Bay region 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician which is a semi-skilled technical position that is responsible for the collection of samples for the laboratory and performing basic laboratory tests. This position requires considerable knowledge of sampling techniques for potable and source water, fundamental water quality analyses, computer data entry and transfer, and sampling equipment. This position is subject to all of the rules of the Tampa Bay Water’s Laboratory Water Quality QC Manual, as well as the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection rules and protocols for collecting representative samples, and to the State of Florida Department of Health regulations and National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference rules for maintaining laboratory certification.

Water Quality Scientist

We are seeking a Water Quality Scientist who performs work for activities relating to source water assessment, drinking water and environmental permitting and compliance. Employees in this class have knowledge of surface and groundwater quality in the State of Florida and water treatment processes, and conduct activities in areas such as source water assessment, monitoring and reporting, compliance, water treatment process issues, data compilation and analysis, and report generation.

Senior Applications Developer


Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

We are seeking a Senior Applications Developer who performs professional and technical work in database applications modeling and custom software development. Employees in this class have extensive knowledge of databases, applications development and relational modeling, and are responsible for all technical duties inherent in developing, supporting and maintaining complex and expansive database applications within a Internet, Intranet, LAN and WAN architecture. Position provides direct support to the Applications Manager, and is responsible for providing the technical and analytical expertise in all areas of information management. May lead and direct the work of others. Performance is monitored through periodic conferences, reports and administrative review. Performs related work as directed.
