Tampa Bay Water is once again storing water in the region’s water savings account, the C.W. Bill Young Regional Reservoir. Since July 25, 2014, an average of 129 million gallons of water has flowed into the reservoir daily and approximately 5 billion gallons has been banked.

The Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals has affirmed the judgment of the trial court in the lawsuit over cracked soil-cement at the C.W. Bill Young Regional Reservoir. The decision was issued on Monday, September 23.

Reservoir Renovation in Full Swing

Tampa Bay Water’s contractor, Kiewit Infrastructure South, began construction on the Reservoir Renovation Project in February. Kiewit is implementing a multi-step solution to make the reservoir fully functional. First, Kiewit is removing the existing erosion-control layer; second, it is adding a drain and third, Kiewit is adding thicker, stronger soil cement to the interior.
