Pipelines are to Tampa Bay Water’s system what veins and arteries are to the human body. Critical pipelines carry wholesale water to and from our treatment and distribution facilities, and to our member governments. Should one of these pipelines fail, the result could be service interruptions to residents and businesses.

Early Summer Rains Dampen Drought

It’s not your imagination…this past winter and spring was the driest dry season in over 100 years! From Oct. 1, 2016, through May 31, 2017, the Tampa Bay region received about half of its normal rainfall. The effects were easy to see. Rivers were trickling at a fraction of typical flows and wildfires were scorching the Florida landscape.

FY2018 Budget Approved

At its June meeting, Tampa Bay Water’s board of directors approved the agency’s fiscal year 2018 budget with no wholesale rate increase. The 2018 budget maintains a wholesale drinking water rate of $2.56 per 1,000 gallons for the seventh consecutive year.
