10,000 Reasons to Keep Water Sources Clean

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Water is why we love the Tampa Bay area. We love to swim, boat, fish, canoe and relax – and the same natural resources we enjoy for recreation are also where we get our drinking water.

Clean drinking water starts at the source and it takes all of us working together to make it happen. That’s why Tampa Bay Water offers mini-grants between $2,000 and $10,000 to community groups, non-profits, schools and universities involved in cleaning our waterways and protecting drinking water sources. That’s 10,000 great reasons for groups to submit their source water protection ideas and programs.

The Tampa Bay region depends on groundwater, rivers and seawater for its drinking water and Tampa Bay Water depends on the community to help protect those sources from pollution.

Here's how to apply:

Tampa Bay Water scores applications in November and grant recipients are notified before the end of 2016.

Tampa Bay Water is the largest wholesale water supplier in Florida, providing high-quality drinking water to its members, who in turn, supply water to more than 2.4 million residents of the Tampa Bay area. Tampa Bay Water member governments include the cities of New Port Richey, St. Petersburg and Tampa, and the counties of Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas.
