South Hillsborough Pipeline Meeting Summaries Are Online
Agency, | | Return

In February, Tampa Bay Water wrapped up a series of eight public meetings for the South Hillsborough Pipeline project, which will deliver up to 65 million gallons of water per day (mgd) to southern Hillsborough County when completed in 2028. Seven of the meetings were held in person at venues geographically located along the route. The eighth was a virtual meeting held via Zoom.

The purpose of the meetings was to update residents on the pipeline design, highlight the types of construction to be used, and answer questions. Summaries and presentations from those meetings are available at SouthHillsboroughPipeline.com.

Tampa Bay Water is committed to continuing its public outreach efforts on this project, which began in 2019 with a public survey on route selection criteria. That input played a role in narrowing 10 potential routes down to the top three that Tampa Bay Water’s board considered.

Tampa Bay Water will hold more community meetings and post information to the project website as the project nears construction to ensure residents are informed.

“Another way to stay informed on this project is to join our mailing list,” said Brandon Moore, public communications manager for Tampa Bay Water. “We will use email to inform residents of location-specific construction impacts as we enter construction, so that will be the best way to know what’s going on.”
