Cypress Creek Pump Station Variable Frequency Drive

The Cypress Creek Pump Station in Pasco County pumps treated water from the Cypress Creek and Crossbar wellfields and combines it with regional water from the High Service Pump Station to deliver a combined average of 90.4 million gallons of water per day (mgd) to the regional system.

Overview

This project will replace one variable frequency drive (VFD) and control boards and power modules for two other VFDS at the Cypress Creek Pump Station. Variable frequency drives are used to change pump motor speeds, flow and efficiency.

The project will improve pump station reliability and decrease facility downtime.

Cost

The budget for the project is approximately $1.8 million.

Time Frame

Construction will begin in February 2025 and is expected to be completed by summer 2026.

Public Impacts

This project has no public impact as all work is contained within Tampa Bay Water property.
