High Service Pump Station Ball Valve Replacement

The High Service Pump Station is co-located with the Tampa Bay Surface Water Treatment Plant in Hillsborough County. Finished surface water from the plant is blended with finished water from the Tampa Bay Seawater Desalination Plant and to the regional system through the High Service Pump Station. The station pumps an average of 85.08 million gallons of water per day (mgd) to the regional system.

Overview

This project will replace the 24-inch ball valves in six pumps, along with replacement of copper control piping with stainless steel material.

Benefits

This project will improve and maintain the pump station’s reliability by regulating water flow and pressure.

Cost

The budget for this project is approximately $3. 9 million for design and construction.

Time Frame

Construction will begin in February 2025 and is scheduled to be completed in late 2027.

Public Impacts

This project has no public impact as all work is contained within Tampa Bay Water property.
