Morris Bridge Wellfield Improvements

The Morris Bridge Wellfield is located within the Lower Hillsborough Wilderness Preserve and contains 20 production wells with a total capacity of 33.75 million gallons of water per day (mgd).
Overview
The project will replace pumps, motors, piping, electrical and arc flash components on 15 wells currently in service and demolish five wells that are no longer in service.
Benefits
This project will maintain Morris Bridge Wellfield’s existing level of service and increase its efficiency and reliability while reducing operation and maintenance costs.
Cost
The budget for the project is approximately $16 million for design and construction.
Time Frame
Construction is scheduled to begin in April 2025 and be completed in early 2028.
Public Impacts
This project may require periodic closing of sections of the Flatwoods Park Trail in Hillsborough County’s Flatwoods Park. Tampa Bay Water, in partnership with Hillsborough County, will inform residents in advance.
