Surface Water Treatment Plant Renewal and Replacement Program Phase 1

Tampa Bay Water’s Regional Surface Water Treatment Plant, located in Tampa, cleans water from the Alafia River, Hillsborough River and Tampa Bypass Canal to drinking water standards, providing an average of 90 million gallons of water per day (mgd) – up to a maximum of 120 mgd – of high-quality drinking water to the region.
Project Overview
This project is part of the utility’s Renewal and Replacement Program and will replace the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system and two ozone generators.

This project will improve the overall reliability and resiliency of the plant.
Project Cost
The budget for the project is approximately $6.2 million for design and construction.
Timeframe
Construction for the HVAC system is complete the ozone generators construction will begin in June 2025 and is scheduled to be completed in November 2025.
Public Impact
This project has no public impact as all work is contained within Tampa Bay Water property.
